My name is Jasmin Fischer and I love animals. My affinity for dogs began in my childhood. Wolves and dogs had particularly fascinated me. At my long pleading, my parents relented and allowed me to keep a dog. My beloved bitch soon gave birth to 10 puppies. From that point on, dogs became an integral part and family member in my life.
For me it was clear: my career goal was to become an animal keeper. After a three-year apprenticeship in Stendal, over 800 kilometres away, I returned to Lörrach in the border triangle D/F/CH with my animal care diploma for pets and boarding animals. Without a driving licence, it was very difficult to find a job. But in order not to be idle, I offered acquaintances to walk their dogs. Over time, more and more requests came in - also for holiday care.
But the demand was so great that the space quickly became too small. In 2020, my family bought a large house with a big fenced garden in Alsace near Basel. The small community of Bouxwiller has 450 souls, is surrounded by woods and meadows and is about a quarter of an hour's drive from Leymen. From Weil am Rhein it takes about 1/2 hour by car, the border to Switzerland can be reached in a quarter of an hour. Nearest villages in Switzerland are e.g. Rodersdorf, Biel-Benken, Therwil, Oberwil, Schönenbuch, Basel.
Here in Alsace, I can now look after a small pack at any time. The garden has a large play area and offers shady spots, hiding places and a dog paddling pool in summer. We can start our walks through meadows and fields directly in front of the front door.
I have always had animals myself, currently two dogs, two cats and a rooster with his 4 hens. I would be happy if a few guests would join our pack.
Of course, fun and games come first. But I am also happy to help with the education. We always do a little training when we go for a walk anyway. Depending on the need, I divide the dogs into groups so that those who have a lot of power can let off steam and the older ones can do their sniffing rounds in peace.
We have two floors in the house and a large cellar with several rooms. Our guests live and sleep in our house. Beds are available in almost every room. However, you will not find a kennel in our house. That's why we insist that our dogs get to know each other and get to know each other before we accept a guest. Because it is important that the "newcomer" fits into the pack.
